Description

Homemade sourdough bread is known for its crispy crust, airy interior, and naturally tangy flavor. Made with a wild yeast starter instead of commercial yeast, sourdough develops deep flavor through slow fermentation.


Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water
  • 2 tsp salt


Instructions

  1. Mix starter, water, and flour to form dough.
  2. Add salt and knead lightly.
  3. Let rise 8–12 hours.
  4. Shape dough and let rise again 1–2 hours.
  5. Bake in Dutch oven at 450°F for 40–45 minutes.
  6. Cool before slicing.
