Description

A delicious and easy-to-prepare turkey roll recipe, perfect for creating memorable meals and offering a flavorful alternative to traditional turkey preparation.

Ingredients

  • 1 boneless turkey breast (about 3 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Twine for tying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Butterfly the turkey breast by slicing it horizontally almost all the way through, then opening it like a book.
  3. Season the inside of the turkey breast with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the dried cranberries, chopped walnuts, and fresh sage.
  5. Spread the cranberry-walnut-sage mixture evenly over the seasoned turkey breast.
  6. Roll the turkey breast tightly, starting from the shorter side.
  7. Secure the roll with kitchen twine at 1-inch intervals.
  8. Rub the outside of the turkey roll with olive oil and season with more salt and pepper.
  9. Place the turkey roll in a roasting pan.
  10. Roast for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  11. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • The resting period is crucial for the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moist and tender turkey roll.
  • You can substitute other dried fruits or nuts based on your preference; apricots and pecans work well.
  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a layer of thinly sliced prosciutto before rolling.
  • If you don’t have fresh sage, use 1 teaspoon of dried sage, but fresh is recommended for the best flavor.
