Ingredients
- 1 pound frozen fully cooked meatballs
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the frozen meatballs and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour over the meatballs and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth until smooth.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper.
- Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes, or until the sauce is heated through and meatballs are cooked.
- Taste and season with salt if needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
- Serve over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice.
- For a richer flavor, add a splash of brandy or sherry to the sauce.
