Ingredients

  • 1 lb spicy Italian sausage, casing removed
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional toppings: grated Parmesan cheese, fresh parsley


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the spicy Italian sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced onion and bell peppers to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
