Description

A quick and easy marinade that adds incredible savory flavor to shrimp, perfect for grilling, sautéing, or baking.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, smoked paprika, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Add shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Marinate for at least 15-30 minutes in the refrigerator. For deeper flavor, marinate for up to 1 hour.
  4. Remove shrimp from marinade (discarding the marinade) and cook as desired.

Notes

  • Ensure shrimp are peeled and deveined before marinating.
  • Do not marinate for too long, as the lemon juice can start to ‘cook’ the shrimp, affecting the texture.
  • This marinade is versatile and can also be used for other seafood like scallops or fish.
