A simple and delicious recipe for ricotta meatballs, perfect as an appetizer or main course.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
- If baking, place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
- If pan-frying, add meatballs to the heated skillet and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.
- Serve hot with your favorite sauce.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can use lean ground beef or turkey.
- Add fresh herbs like parsley or basil for extra flavor.
- These meatballs can be made ahead of time and reheated.
