- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, extra pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon stick
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.
- Stir constantly until the mixture is heated through and just begins to simmer. Do not boil.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the white chocolate chips until completely melted and smooth.
- Pour the hot chocolate into mugs.
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon stick, if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can use half-and-half instead of milk.
- Adjust the sugar and pumpkin pie spice to your personal preference.
- If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, you can use a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
- White chocolate can be sensitive to heat; ensure the milk is not boiling when you add the chocolate.
