These Pan Fried Salmon Croquettes, also known as Fish Cakes, are easy to make, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside, offering a delicious way to enjoy salmon.
Ingredients
- 1 (14.75 ounce) can salmon
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup chopped green onion
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or other oil for frying)
Instructions
- Drain the salmon well and remove any large bones or skin (optional). Place the salmon in a medium bowl.
- Add the flour, egg, green onion, dill, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the salmon.
- Mix the ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Form the mixture into eight small patties.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the salmon patties in the hot oil.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as tartar sauce or a squeeze of lemon juice.

- You can substitute canned tuna or other canned fish for the salmon.
- Ensure the oil is hot before adding the croquettes for maximum crispiness.
- You can prepare these ahead of time and refrigerate the uncooked patties for up to 24 hours.
- For a healthier option, you can bake the croquettes at 375°F (190°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
