Description

Easy and delicious bites perfect for any holiday gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cocktail sausages or mini hot dogs
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  3. Cut each triangle in half lengthwise to create smaller triangles.
  4. Place one cocktail sausage at the wide end of each dough triangle.
  5. Roll the dough up around the sausage, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point.
  6. Place the rolled sausages seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops of the pigs in a blanket with the beaten egg wash.
  8. Sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds, if desired.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can use puff pastry instead of crescent rolls for a richer texture.
  • For a savory twist, add a sprinkle of garlic powder or onion powder to the dough before rolling.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like mustard, ketchup, or cheese sauce.
