Description

A spooky and delicious Halloween-themed baked brie appetizer, featuring a ‘bloody’ raspberry or cranberry sauce topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) wheel of brie cheese
  • 1/2 cup raspberry or cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1/4 teaspoon red food coloring (optional, for extra ‘blood’ effect)
  • Crackers or baguette slices, for serving
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the wheel of brie on a small baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the raspberry or cranberry sauce with the balsamic glaze. If using, add the red food coloring and stir until well combined.
  4. Spoon the ‘bloody’ sauce evenly over the top of the brie.
  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the brie is softened and warm, and the topping is bubbly.
  6. Carefully remove from the oven.
  7. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs if desired.
  8. Serve immediately with crackers or baguette slices.

Notes

  • For a deeper red color, use a good quality cranberry sauce or add a few drops more of red food coloring.
  • Ensure the brie is at room temperature for more even melting.
  • Be careful when handling the hot brie.
