Ingredients

  • 1 block (7 oz) feta cheese, drained
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Cut the feta cheese block into 4 equal pieces.
  2. Set up a dredging station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with the beaten egg, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Dredge each feta piece in flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it in the egg, letting any excess drip off. Finally, coat evenly with panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Carefully place the breaded feta pieces in the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. While the feta is frying, gently warm the honey in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Stir in the red pepper flakes.
  7. Remove the fried feta from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  8. Arrange the fried feta rolls on a serving platter. Drizzle generously with the chili honey.
  9. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.
