A simple and delicious recipe for chocolate chip banana bread, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
- Stir in the melted butter, baking soda, salt, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Fold in the flour until just combined.
- If using, stir in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Ensure bananas are very ripe for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Do not overmix the batter after adding the flour.
