Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Flatten chicken breasts to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Season chicken with salt and pepper.
- Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then egg, and finally coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Pour marinara sauce over the chicken.
- Top with mozzarella cheese.
- Transfer skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or Italian herbs to the breadcrumbs.
- Serve with your favorite pasta or a side salad.
