- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
- 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped green beans
- 1/4 cup Thai basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned.
- Stir in chopped yellow onion, red bell pepper, and green beans. Cook until vegetables are tender-crisp, about 3-5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, and fish sauce.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and vegetables. Add red pepper flakes, if using.
- Cook, stirring, until the sauce has thickened and coated the chicken and vegetables, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in fresh Thai basil leaves until wilted.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add more red pepper flakes or a sliced chili pepper with the garlic.
- If you can’t find Thai basil, regular basil can be substituted, though the flavor will be slightly different.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like mushrooms, carrots, or broccoli.
- Adjust soy sauce, oyster sauce, and fish sauce to your taste preference.
