Description
These Cranberry Brie Bites are the ultimate easy appetizer, perfect for any occasion. They feature a flaky puff pastry shell filled with creamy brie cheese and a sweet-tart cranberry topping.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz brie cheese, rind removed and cut into small cubes
- 1/4 cup cranberry sauce (canned or homemade)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin tin.
- Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into 12 squares, roughly the size to fit into the mini muffin tin cups.
- Gently press each puff pastry square into the cups of the mini muffin tin, creating a small well in the center.
- Place a cube of brie cheese into each pastry-lined cup.
- Top the brie with a small spoonful of cranberry sauce.
- Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the brie is melted and gooey.
- Let the bites cool in the tin for a few minutes before carefully removing them.
- Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme, if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed but still cold for best results.
- You can use any type of cranberry sauce you prefer.
- If you don’t have a mini muffin tin, you can bake these on a baking sheet, but they may spread more.
- For a savory twist, add a pinch of black pepper or a tiny sprig of rosemary on top of the brie before baking.
