These Christmas Cranberry Roll Ups are an easy and delicious festive treat perfect for the holiday season. They combine sweet cranberries with a soft, rolled pastry for a delightful bite.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (jellied or whole berry)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.
- Spread the cranberry mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the puff pastry.
- Slice the roll into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
- Place the roll-ups on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
- Brush the tops of the roll-ups with the beaten egg wash.
- Sprinkle with coarse sugar, if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Ensure your puff pastry is fully thawed but still cold for the best results.
- Jellied cranberry sauce will create a smoother filling, while whole berry sauce will provide more texture.
- These can be made ahead and reheated gently before serving.
