A delicious and moist chocolate chip banana bread recipe that is easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Mash the ripe bananas and add them to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Ensure bananas are very ripe for the best flavor and sweetness.
- For a richer flavor, use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.
- You can add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans along with the chocolate chips.
- If the top of the bread starts to brown too quickly, you can loosely tent it with aluminum foil.
