Description
A quick and easy weeknight meal featuring tender, Cajun-seasoned steak tips tossed with rigatoni pasta in a rich and creamy Parmesan sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound rigatoni pasta
- 1.5 pounds beef sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook rigatoni according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- While pasta is cooking, toss steak tips with Cajun seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak tips and cook until browned on all sides, about 3-5 minutes. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the same skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in heavy cream and milk. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and salt until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
- Add cooked rigatoni and steak tips to the skillet. Toss to coat everything in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
- For a richer sauce, you can use half-and-half instead of milk.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or spinach.
