Description
Experience the comforting flavors of autumn with these Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls. A delightful twist on a classic, these rolls combine the warm spices of cinnamon with the sweet, tender chunks of apple, all swirled into a soft, doughy treat.
Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 cup finely diced apple (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and press the seams together to form a rectangle.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
- Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough rectangle.
- Sprinkle the diced apple over the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
- Cut the log into 8 equal-sized slices.
- Place the slices cut-side up in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach desired drizzling consistency.
- Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly in the dish before drizzling with the glaze.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For an extra burst of apple flavor, you can add a tablespoon of apple cider to the glaze.
- Chopped pecans or walnuts can be added with the apples for added texture and flavor.
- Ensure the apples are finely diced so they cook through evenly.
