Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup finely chopped apple (Honeycrisp or Fuji recommended)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped yellow onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-seasoned)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, chopped apple, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped sage, chopped parsley, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.
- Roll the mixture into about 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs.
- Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Serve hot.

- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour.
- You can pan-fry these meatballs in a skillet with a little olive oil if you prefer.
