- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the Topping:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, apple cider, 1/4 cup melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease your donut pan or silicone donut molds.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the donuts are cooking, prepare the topping: In a small bowl, combine the 1/4 cup melted butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Once the donuts are done, let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before carefully removing them.
- Dip each warm donut into the cinnamon-sugar topping, ensuring it’s well coated.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Make sure not to overfill the donut cavities, as the batter will rise.
- If you don’t have a donut pan, you can use muffin tins, but the cooking time may vary.
- For a richer flavor, you can use reduced apple cider.
